A female Pakistani fighter pilot has died after her aircraft crashed in Punjab province.
Marium Mukhtiar was on a routine training mission when her plane met an "in-flight emergency" over Mianwali district, the air force said.

Newborn baby found in nativity scene at New York City church

A newborn baby who still had his umbilical cord attached was found in a nativity scene at a Queens church on Monday.
The infant was abandoned at Holy Child Jesus Church in Richmond Hill and was discovered by a custodian around noon, according to police sources.
“The baby was found in the creche, a sort of manger scene where we would put the baby Jesus during Christmastime,” recalled the Rev. Christopher Heanue.

Ohio couple, 7-year-old son murdered in apparent home invasion

A Columbus, Ohio couple and their 7-year-old son were shot and killed Monday, while the family's 12-year-old daughter was critically injured, police said.
Investigators said the shooting suspect, identified as 50-year-old Barry Kirk, was shot by police as he fled the scene and died at a hospital a few hours later.
